The world is a mess. The new cabinet of the United States is made up of a fake doctor, a former wrestling executive, and a Fox news anchor. New York is in a drought and New Jersey is on fire. A man went on a stabbing spree in Manhattan and our mayor is being investigated for accepting bribes from Turkey. Things are extremely chaotic and crazy. And we’re all in need of some worthy distractions.
In February, I began adding my “What I’m Up To” section to the bottom of my free newsletters. These include the TV shows I’m watching, the books I’m reading, the podcasts I’m listening to, the products I love, etc. This section is a lovely way for me to track the things I love and really, for me to write about reality television on the regular. I find it so fun to recap my week in these little tidbits, all the worthy distractions from the god awful news cycle.
So, starting next week, my new section, Worthy Distractions will be released weekly on Tuesdays and will be stuffed to the brim with all my recommendations, all the things to distract you from the comings and goings of that man in office, of the too hot weather, of your annoying boss. As a treat for you, dear Reader, I’ll give you the first edition for free. But after that, Worthy Distractions will only be available for paid subscribers, so if you want to know what I’m up to or need a weekly email about the glory that is Selling Sunset instead of the news, budget a cool $5 monthly for it!
I’m really excited about this new phase of Please Read Me and am ever so grateful for you all. I can’t believe I write and you read. It makes my heart sing.
