I’ve long known that May 2025 was going to be a busy month. With two weddings on the calendar, I was prepared to lock-in, to make my social life about my friend’s nuptials, and let summer begin in June. But work picked up and my days started to fill and this May became one of the most whirlwind months of my life. So here’s a recap!
May 1 - Got a haircut that I desperately needed (I’d been cutting my own hair for about a year) and got to chat with my stylist who I love and who just opened her own studio. Visit Mariel at the Cutting Studio NYC.
May 3 - Ran my first ~~long run. A five milder in Prospect Park that wiped me out, but I still went out with a few friends to the East Village. It was one of the only truly warm days of May, my hair was deliciously curly. We stomped around my old neighborhood, sitting outside at Yuca Bar and The Cabinet Mezcal Bar until it started down pouring.
May 7 - Met Zoe at her alterationist for her final wedding dress fitting!!!
May 8 - Went to my very first event with HELLO! which was a lowkey weird installation that somehow, for some reason, was sponsored by Gwyneth Paltrow. I brought Emma and was gifted gorgeous peonies, a candle, and a GOOP serum.

May 9 & 10 - Visited my nephews which is always my favorite way to spend my time. Charlie is deeply obsessed with Toy Story and that weekend he didn’t take off his Buzz Lightyear pajamas. He forced me to draw him characters from the films and I loved every second of it.
May 11 - Ran six miles and laid in bed for the rest of the day.
May 13 - Worked my first ever red carpet! I had to go into the office that day, pick up a red carpet appropriate dress (TY GAP), and travel the furthest west of Manhattan I have been and ever will be. Did you know there was a 12th Ave? I interviewed Elizabeth Hurley about her and Billy Rae Cyrus, chatted with Katie Thurston (the former bachelorette), and stared at Vera Wang. It was exhilarating.
May 14 - Got my nails done. A pretty pink gel-x moment and scrubbed my feet to rid them of the calluses gained from my new found love of running.
May 15 - Biked to Williamsburg to get a spray tan, went home and marinated, and left for my second red carpet. The event was at the Natural History Museum and was for Pen America. I interviewed Sarah Jessica Parker (!!!), Judy Blume, Jodi Picoult, and Amber Ruffin.
May 16 - Went for a quick run, then got ready for Zoe and Jim’s wedding weekend. Picked up flowers from a new little flower shop near me for the welcome party. Rehearsed for the big day, changed outfits, and headed to the Water Tower bar for a lovely night. Gave a speech! Drank margaritas! Slept on a pull out couch with my fellow maid Izzi and prepped for the next day.
May 17 - Woke up at the crack of dawn for Zoe’s wedding (!!!!). We glammed, cried, popped champagne, and headed over to the Prospect Park Boathouse for the ceremony. I took an insane amount of photos and videos, cried as Zoe and Jim said their vows, shot a basketball, drank espresso martinis, and took off my shoes so I could dance harder. It was the best day ever.
May 18 - Reminisced about the day with the bride and groom at brunch and crawled into bed to recover.
May 19 - Somehow managed to have enough energy post wedding weekend to work my third red carpet. I met the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, who was a little cooky but a lot of fun.
May 22 - Went to the Cowboy Carter Tour !!! In a winter sweater and a rain coat!! It was literally so gross out - think rainy and 40ish degrees. But Emily, Emma, Estef, Betsy, and I powered through and had an amazing time. We made it even though our bus driver got into an accident (the bus either hit something or was hit by something). Betsy got us closer tickets, thank you Betsy I love you. Emily and I scream sang and jumped and were in awe of Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter. We left just as the concert wrapped up and were in our beds by midnight.
May 23 - Grabbed drinks with Kendall at Petit Paulette and caught up because even though we saw each other at the wedding, we didn’t really speak. We just danced.

May 24 - Took the train out to Ronkonkoma for Madi and Joe’s wedding!! Emily and I accidentally took our sweet time getting ready and missed the first shuttle bus. The wedding was at the Bourne Mansion and felt very Gatsby. I’ve never been so well fed in my entire life. Estef sang their mother/son, father/daughter dance and made us all weep. It was a gorgeous, gorgeous day.
May 26 - My brother graduated from college in May (go Cy!), so we celebrated him by going to a baseball game.
booked us a suite and my baseball loving family was in heaven. It was Charlie’s first game. Although it was the Mets playing the White Sox, Charlie wore his Cardinals jersey. He did leave with a fascination of Mr. Met.May 27 - Adopted my new kitten Wylie, named after my current favorite actor Noah Wyle and Wile E. Coyote. He is tiny and black and a true rascal.
May 29 - Introduced Wylie to Hoagie. There was some wrestling, but really, they were both just interested in smelling each other.
May 30 - Mary and Molly came over to meet the baby. We ate pizza from La Flor, drank wine, and watched Wylie run around while catching up about our past few weeks.
May 31 - Went for a five mile run, worked a bit, then met Kendall, Zoe, and Lily out for drinks. We shared a hefty plate of nachos and chatted. Jim and Adam met up with us when we moved to The Great Georgiana. After a drink there, we moseyed down Dekalb. Zoe and I accidentally partook in a rather long tequila tasting before we all sat down at Los Dos Hermanos for margaritas and guacamole. I biked home to see my babies and went back to Zoe’s to catch the Knicks game. It was one of those Saturdays that just keeps going and going and going.
Soooooo that happened. My May was crazy and fun and exciting and gorgeous and emotional. I loved every second and am both sad and glad it is over. Summer starts now.
